Avasarala Srinivas directorial debut ‘Oohalu Gusagusalade’ not only met with commercial success but also garnered good reviews. And the director is back with ‘ Jyo Achyuthananda’ giving a slice-of-life treatment.

Story:

The plot revolves around two brothers Atchyut (Nara Rohit) and Anand(Naga Shourya) who share great rapport and present tounge-in-cheek comic elements which is a worth to watch for.

The two are happily married and live with their mother. But things start spiralling down with the entry of Jyotsna (Regina). The duo has a flashback connected with Jyosna wherein both the brothers fallhead over heels when Jyosna was their tenant in the past.

The love creates disturbances between brothers and when both decide to confide their love, Jyotsna leaves for USA and re-enters in their life when two are happily well settled with their respective wives.

What makes Jyotsna to re enter into their life and how the two brothers reveal their past of Jyotsna to their wife forms the crux of the story.

Analysis:

A simple storyline but the filmmaker has weaved the subject beautifully taking you on joy ride with fun elements.

The first half is quite engaging as it depicts the romantic indulgence of the two brothers with Jyotsna. The emotional connect and the celebration over small things strikes a chord with audience.

The narration of the second half is slow but the director makes up with suspense elements introduced. You might feel it’s another Peddodu and Chennodu story from Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu but filmmaker shows how this story is different through his treatment. The characters fit the bill perfectly and Nagar Shourya has emerged higher from ‘Oka Manasu’. No other actress could have got into the shoes of Jyosna enacted by Regina. The movie adds as one more feather in her cap and apart from galm doll portrayed in stereotypical movie Regina shines in this film.

Kalyan Koduri’s subtle music has lifted some scenes. Though most of the filming is done in the same location, the cinematographer presents each frame differently.

Verdict:

A decent family watch film away from routine potboiler films.
