The scheme would benefit six mandals and nearly 67,522 households would also be given tap connections. The six mandals are Gajwel, Jagadevpur, Kondapaka, Mulugu, Toopran and Wargal.

Sangareddy: Telangana’s prestigious water drinking scheme - Mission Bhagiratha - will be launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 7 at Komatibanda, Gajwel mandal in Medak district.

The scheme would benefit six mandals and nearly 67,522 households would also be given tap connections. The six mandals are Gajwel, Jagadevpur, Kondapaka, Mulugu, Toopran and Wargal.

Following the launch, a public meeting will be addressed by Modi at Gajwel, for which the officials have also taken precautions to erect rain-proof tents in view of prevailing rainy season.

Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao on Saturday examined the places at Komatibanda and directed the concerned officials to make arrangements. Along with Harish Rao, Collector D. Ronald Rose, Lok Sabha Member K. Prabhakar Reddy were also present.

Gajwel Area Development Authority (GADA) Special Officer Hanumantha Rao said the helipad are being prepared on the hilltop at Komatibanda.
