MLA Jaleel Khan's men attack scribe Shafi

Vijayawada: Turncoat Vijayawada West MLA Jaleel Khan is at it again. Days after his men attacked Sakshi correspondent, his men attacked another mediaperson. This time the target of his ire was editor of Kakatiya Patrika Shafi, who is also the treasurer of Vijayawada press club.

On Friday evening, prominent Muslims held a meeting in Tarapet area of the Old City of Vijayawada. On knowing that the meeting was organised without informing him, the MLA flew into a rage and went to the venue. He began verbally abusing the organisers.

Shafi, who was passing that way, came to click pictures of the duel. The MLA, who saw the scribe, ordered his henchmen to attack Shafi and take away his SIM card and the memory chip. His men attacked Shafi and damaged his mobile. Khan even threatened to put him in jail.

Shafi lodged a complaint with the police. The District Minority Journalists Association strongly condemned the attack on Shafi.
