Minister Babul Supriyo relishes tea from roadside tea stall - Sakshi Post

Bollywood's singing sensation Babul Supriyo, who was Sunday inducted into Prime Minister Narendra Modi's council of ministers, celebrated the occasion savouring a cup of tea and a cream roll from a roadside tea stall.

"I had a great cup of tea during the swearing-in ceremony but nothing can match sipping tea from a paper cup under the open sky," said Supriyo who was accompanied by daughter Sharmilee with whom he shared a cream roll.

Talking about his portfolio, the MP from West Bengal's Asansol said he was yet to be informed about the department he will be assigned.
"Whatever portfolio is handed to be me I will try to fulfil the responsibilities with utmost sincerity," said the voice that churned out hits like "Pari Hai Ek Pari...", "Chanda Chamke..." and "Dil Ne Dil Ko Pukara".
Supriyo's family, including his parents, who attended the swearing-in ceremony were delighted at the singer's success in politics in a very short time.
"He has already made a name for himself in the field of singing but politics was new for him. I am very happy that he has been made a minister. It seems Prime Minister Modi likes him a lot," said his mother.
Sharmilee too expressed her ecstasy at her father becoming a minister.
Meanwhile, back in West Bengal, his party activists took out a victory procession in Asansol smearing each other in gulal while the party's state unit chief Rahul Sinha expressed happiness at Bengal getting representation in the union ministry.
