Married Woman Gangraped And Set On Fire In Chennai

Chennai: A 25-year-old married woman was abducted and gang raped by four men on Friday in Panruti.

The victim belongs to Shankarapuram village of Villupuram district in Chennai was waiting for the bus at the village. Around 6pm, four people in a car approached her and said that they are the friends of her husband and asked her to get into the car so that they will drop her at home. Trusting them, the woman boarded the car and later realized that she was in danger. The miscreants took her to an orchard in Panruti and gang raped her. As the woman was shouting for help the miscreants poured kerosene and set her on fire. Then they fled the spot in the car.

The villagers who reached the spot on hearing the screams found the woman severely burnt. They informed police who shifted her to a hospital and took her statement.

The condition of the woman is stated to be critical.
