Man Rapes 100-Year-Old Woman, Victim Dies In Hospital 

Meerut: In a shocking incident, a 100-year-old woman died after she was allegedly raped by a man. The incident occurred on Sunday midnight in a village on the outskirts of Meerut town in Uttar Pradesh. The victim, who was bedridden, could not raise an alarm when the 35-year-old man — Ankit Punia barged into her house and forced himself on her at around midnight.

The woman was very weak and managed to to cry out feebly. Her grandson rushed in response and was shocked to see her getting raped by the man.

Horrified over the act, the villagers thrashed the accused before calling the police. They demanded the death sentence to the culprit.

The victim was rushed to the District hospital in a critical condition. Following a medical examination, the doctors declared her dead. Swabs were sent to forensic laboratory in Lucknow to confirm the rape. The police arrested the man on various charges of rape, murder and SC/ST Atrocities Act. He was produced in a court and the investigation is on.
