Man Commits Thefts With Second Wife To Maintain 2 Families

Hyderabad: A husband and wife who were on a robbery spree to eke out a livelihood were arrested by the police on Sunday. The accused O. Srinivas was married and worked as a security guard but lost his job after marrying another woman as he neglected duties. Then he tried to earn a livelihood as a daily laborer but as he had two families, the wage earned was not sufficient. Then he sketched a plan to heist and made his second wife a partner in his new profession.

He along with his second wife - V.Renuka – would rob locked houses where to-let boards were put up.

The accused were caught after the police started probing a heist case which took place in Lalaguda 10 days back

Explaining about their modus operandi, DCP B. Limba Reddy said, Srinivas would search for to-let boards roaming around on his Kinetic Honda. After the house was zeroed in he along with Renuka would approach the owners. While talking to them, they would find another house which is just being locked in the nearby area. After informing the landlords that they would get back later, they would go to the locked house, break the lock and then rob the house. They had committed similar robberies in Jubilee Hills, Lalaguda and Malkajgiri.

The accused were caught after the police started probing a heist case which took place in Lalaguda 10 days back. They then checked the CCTV footage at Lalaguda including other 100 CCTV footages in other areas. They then spotted the accused with their vehicle number and found it to be from Amberpet.

The police recovered 100 grams gold, 200 grams silver and cellphones. The accused have been handed over to Lalaguda police and probe is on.
