Major Facelift Proposed For Tourist Spots In Telangana

Hyderabad: Telangana government would give a facelift to tourist spots in three districts: Adilabad, Nirmal and Kumaram Bheem Asifabad.

A detailed district tourism development plan has been chalked out by the state government for the development of these spots, said Ajmeera Chandulal, Minister for Scheduled Tribes development, Tourism and Culture at the Legislative council on Thursday.

He said facelift would be given to Pochera waterfalls, Kuntala waterfalls in Adilabad district, Shamgarh Fort, Bathisgarh Fort in Nirmal, Kumaram Bheem memorial project at Jodeghat.

The two waterfalls - Pochera and Kuntala - are known for their natural waterfall with picturesque and beautiful scenery known for its wide and deep waterfalls. The dense forests of the Sahayadri Mountain near Pochera waterfalls gives a visual treat for the people. Meanwhile the Kuntala waterfalls is the highest waterfall in the state of Telangana with a height of 147 feet.

Shamgarh Fort also known as Nirmal Fort was built by French, and currently the tourist department has provided basic amenities like cleaner pathway, cafeteria. Meanwhile, Bathisgarh Fort has some landscaping works inside it.

The state government aims to develops these tourist spots and not just pull crowds with its scenic beauty but wants to exhort film industry to shoot at the locales.
