Hyderabad: Mahesh Babu-starrer Spyder grossed over Rs 100 crore at the box office, as per reports on Monday.

The film which had opened to mixed reviews seems to have overcome the dull phase to cross the Rs 100 crore mark in the box office. The action-thriller is AR Murugadoss’ first venture with the Tollywood star. Spyder might have received mixed feedback but that hasn’t hindered the movie’s run at the box-office. The film has earned Rs 102 crores worldwide confirmed Tagore Madhu, one of the producers of the film. On its first day, Spyder has grossed Rs 51 crore across the world, kicking off a good run at the box office. The film had a good opening in Chennai as well, considering it is Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu’s first straight Tamil film. The actor who is fluent with the language has also dubbed for himself.

On the other hand, the film had done well at centres abroad, especially the United States. Until Saturday, the film had grossed Rs 9.14 crore in the United States. Contrary to the earlier reports that Spyder has not received the same response in Telugu speaking states, it seems to have recovered to clock some good numbers at the box office.

Spyder follows the story of an intelligence officer Shiva (Mahesh Babu) who has to nab the psychotic Sudalai. Apart from Mahesh Babu and SJ Suryah, Spyder also has Bharath, RJ Balaji and Rakul Preet Singh in key roles, with music by Harris Jeyaraj.
