MAA Should Suspend Balakrishna: BJP

Hyderabad: The BJP state cinema Cell has demanded that the Movie Artist Association (MAA) suspend actor-cum-politician Nandamuri Balakrishna from the association following his derogatory remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It may be recalled that, the TDP Hindupur MLA (Balayya), during his speech in Vijayawada where Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was observing a one-day deeksha to seek justice for AP, abused Modi.
In his tirade against Modi, Balayya took a jibe at his past as a tea-seller and fired him saying he treated Andhra Pradesh like a fly struggling for survival in a cup of hot tea. "But remember Modji, Andhra Pradesh is not Gujarat. Your tricks won't work here. The Telugu people are courageous. They showed their power when the Congress government in Delhi tried to pull down NTR government in 1984," the actor said.
In this backdrop, the BJP state unit demanded action against him and the cell convener CVL Narasimha Rao said that they would file a case against him. The cell, also added that they would also seize NTYR stuido if they fail to deposit the pending dues to the Film Development Corporation.
