MAA Lifts Ban on Sri Reddy, Forms Committee Against Sexual Harassment

MAA president Shivaji Raja - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: The Movie Artists’ Association (MAA) has decided to lift ban on small time actress Sri Reddy. The association made an announcement at Film Chambers here to this effect today. MAA president Shivaji Raja, along with the governing body members of the association made this announcement to media.

Sri Reddy was banned and denied MAA membership after she protested topless at the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce alleging casting couch in the industry. With the women's organisation coming forward in support of the actress and also submitting a memorandum to Cinematography minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, the Sri Reddy issues hogged the limelight across media.

Actor Shivaji Raja said that Sri Reddy's accusations had affected many people in the industry, hence the ban was proposed. Now, with many MAA members requesting for reconsideration of ban, the association has decided to lift the ban, he said. “Moreover we have also formed a Committee Against Sexual Harassment (CASH),” he added.

The MAA president said that Sri Reddy was free to act with whoever offered her roles and added that director Teja had already made an announcement that he would do two films with her.
