Kodandaram Arrested While Proceeding to Join Mallannasagar Protesters

Hyderabad: Telangana JAC convenor Prof. M. Kodandaram was arrested at Vantimamidi in Medak district on Monday. He was proceeding towards Gajwel to participate in the agitation by Mallannasagar oustees.
A Bandh is being observed by all Opposition parties in the district in protest against the police lathi charge on Mallannasagar oustees on Sunday.
Kodandaram condemned the police lathi charge on villagers and was about to join the agitation at Gajwel, CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s constituency.
Opposition parties came together to stage protests against the procurement of lands for Mallannasagar project. They say the villagers do not want to part with their agriculture lands. Leaders and workers of various parties staged dharnas at bus depots in Medak, Pragnapur, Narayankhed and Siddipet. Schools, colleges and businesses were closed.
