Kerala Government On The Defense After School Girl’s Facebook Post

CK Ashwini - Sakshi Post

Kasargod: The Facebook post of a school girl alleging threat to her family from CPM workers, has gone viral on social media and has placed the ruling Left party on the defensive.

The girl, CK Ashwini, a Class XI student of Government Higher Secondary School in Chayyoth posted that a group of CPM workers had waylaid and threatened her father, CK Sukumaran on February 5 for shifting loyalties to the BJP. The incident took place when Sukumaran was accompanying her home from school. Her father, a resident of Kayyeni in Karinthalam village was a CPM worker but shifted to BJP recently. Karinthalam village is a known CPM bastion. However, since the day her father shifted to BJP he has been receiving threats and a complaint with the police did not yield any results, she said in her video post.

Meanwhile, Sukumaran identified the four men who waylaid him as Mahesh, Sujith, Sajith, and Saneesh. They were all native of Karinthalam village, he mentioned in his police complaint. The district BJP said, that the incident shows the growing intolerance in the ranks of the CPM. The Left party said that the young girl was tutored by her father to make those statements in the video. The blame game in the district BJP continues and no formal complaint has been registered by the police so far.
