Kashmiri Elected MANUU Students’ Union President

Tajamul Islam contested the election under banner of Azad National students Association - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: Tajamul Islam, a Kashmiri student has been elected as the president of the Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) Students Union on Thursday.

Islam pursuing his PhD in English contested the election under banner of Azad National students Association (ANSA) and gave a call of - vote for reason, not region - to which his fellow students connected with .

The newly president said that his fight was for unity and against regionalism which is one of the major issue on the campus.
“My call from Kashmir to Kanyakumari served as a connect in the campus. This is against regionalism,” said Islam.

Coming from Bandipora in Kashmir, Islam said that apart from bridging the gap between students and administration they want to work on gender disparity in MANUU.

Meanwhile, student of business management Arshad Alam has been elected as vice president and Muhammed Ali K from English department is named as joint secretary.
