Is Modi magic over?

Is Modi magic over? - Sakshi Post

What do by-election resuls to the 18 assembly seats in Bihar, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka indicate? The BJP and its allies have retained only 8 of the 18 seats contested.

In all these places, the BJP devastated the opposition only three months ago riding on the crest of a Modi tsunami. Losing 10 seats within three months is significant. More importantly, all these are saffron states if one goes by the LS election results.
The badly mauled Congress has reasons to feel smug as it won five seats on its own. The Big story is that Laloo’s RJD, Nitish’ JDU and Congress won 6 of the 10 seats in Bihar. Even in MP, the BJP lost one traditional seat. In Karnataka, Bellary was lost to the Congress.
The results are being viewed as a morale-booster for the non-BJP parties ahead of Assembly elections in Maharashtra, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir and Jharkhand, which will go to polls later this year or early next year.
These results are in line with the results of Uttarakhand assembly seats. The Congress won all the three assembly seats months after losing all the five LS seats to the BJP.
Is the Modi wave vanishing? If these elections are any indications, Amit Shah, the BJP president and Narendra Modi have a job on hand. The job is to repeat the 2014 success.
