IIT Kanpur Suspends 16 Students For 3 Years For Ragging  

Kanpur: Cracking a whip on ragging menace, the IIT Kanpur suspended 22 BTech students for ragging their juniors. Out of them, 16 students have been suspended for three years while six have been suspended for one year. The decision was taken in the presence of director Professor Indranil Manna and deputy director Professor Manindra Agarwal on Monday.

The suspended students are not allowed to stay on campus and can only resume there studies after the suspension period gets over. Professor Agarwal stated that they restrained themselves from filing police complaint as the students future would be bleak.

It may be recalled that, in August, a complaint was made by 30 juniors against 50 students, who alleged that they were ragged and forced to strip and do objectionable acts.
