IIT Analytics And Finance Portfolio A Hit At IIT-Kharagpur Placements

Kolkata: Over 120 students of the elite IIT Kharagpur bagged lucrative jobs on the first day of campus placement which began on Thursday where analytics and finance profiles seem to be the flavour of the season.

According to the institute, 127 students got jobs on day one, while another 180 students have already got pre-placement offers. Analytics and finance profiles are the most sought after. American analytics company EXL Services made the highest number of offers at IIT Kharagpur on December 1, the first day of the ongoing placements season. Altogether they have given 18 offers, officials said.

This year IIT-Kharagpur has made a consorted effort to invite PSUs to the campus during December placement season.

Other major recruiters are JP Morgan, Credit Suisse, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Parthenon, Oracle, Schlumberger Asia, Cairn India, American Express and ITC. Eight international offers were received from Microsoft, Oracle, Sprinklr, TSMC and NTT Communications. Interviews will go on till late night with number of offers expected to cross 100 on Friday.

The PSUs are scheduled in the first two weeks of the placement season. This year IIT-Kharagpur has made a consorted effort to invite PSUs to the campus during December placement season and 13 of them have already confirmed their willingness, an IIT official said.
