Hyderabadi Brain Dead Student’s Heart Donated To Chennai Patient 

Hyderabad: The vital organs of a brain dead student have been donated to four patients in Hyderabad and Chennai. Shasank, a first year degree student at Pragathi Degree College and the son of Srinivas and Ramadevi in Venkatagiri Colony under Yousufguda police limits met with an accident at Kukatpally riding his bike. He lost control and hit the divider between Miyapur and Kukatpally.

Shasank was declared brain dead after treatment at a hospital.

Jeevan Dan volunteers convinced the parents who agreed to donate the organs of their son.

The heart of the deceased was sent to Fortis Hospitals in Chennai, cornea was donated to LV Prasad Eye Hospital, one kidney each to Apollo and NIMS. Parents said they have some satisfaction that their son is alive in those who received the organs.
