Hyderabad Will Soon Fulfill Quli Qutb Shah’s Wish  

Hyderabad: As founder of Hyderabad — Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah had once wished that the city shall be filled with people like frogs in a lake, the city of pearls is teeming with people who came from various corners of the country.

According to a study conducted by Lee Associates, a consultant for HMDA, Hyderabad would exceed the population of Muimbai and Delhi in the next two decades.

Presently, Hyderabad population is more than island-city-state of Singapore and major Canadian city Toronto. According to the latest statistics compiled by the company, Mumbai city has population of 21,000 per square kilometer while national capital Delhi has 20,932. The city of pearls – Hyderabad has population of just 10,263.

In Singapore, about 7,801 people live per every square kilometer while in Toronto, 4,334 population exists.

While Greater Hyderabad covers 680 sq. kms, making it one of the largest metropolitan areas in the country, Mumbai and Delhi cover 603 and 782 sq. kms respectively. These cities continue to keep pace by providing plenty of employment opportunities to youth. This resulted in exodus of vast number of educated lot from different corners of the country to metropolitan cities for better living.

Hyderabad has been fast developing after the city has become a major hub of education, healthcare and IT sectors. So far, the Telangana government did not give permission for high-rise buildings. However, with growing demands for infrastructure, Hyderabad will have to adopt construction of Transit Oriented Development (TOD) centers soon.
