Hyderabad University Sets Up Committee To Probe Fine Arts Students Death

Hyderabad: The University of Hyderabad (UoH) authorities on Monday constituted an inquiry committee to probe the reasons behind death of N.Praveen, a Fine Arts student.

The panel has been given two months time to probe the matter and should submit its report on November 19.

Registrar issued the official order constituting the panel. Six faculty members from various departments comprise the panel. The panel is led by B Kamaiah, Dean, School of Economics.

Other faculty members are - Fine Arts Head of department LNV Srinivas, B Ramachary from School of Chemistry, Insaf Qureshi from School of Life Sciences, Sarat Jyotsna Rani from department of Telugu and anti-discrimination officer, S Arulmozi deputy dean of students welfare as the convenor.

Praveen, a student of first year Master of Fine Arts, was found hanging in his room L 204 on Saturday. Police said no suicide note was found in Praveen’s room.

Praveen hailed from Shadnagar town in Mahabubnagar. He had taken admission into the university two months ago.
