Hyderabad Residents Say ‘No’ To Daily Water Supply

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad residents have opposed the pilot launch of supplying water daily by the Water Board calling it "odd timings"

The water board started the trail from February 1 to 111 slums in the city supplying to as many as 70,000 connections.

Kukatpally, Sanathnagar, and Erragadda residents among others insisted the officials to revert to old timings from 5am to 7am unlike 9am to 11am.

The residents told the officials to switch back to earlier system of supplying water once every two or three days, adding that water was supplied for two hours wherein in the new system it is only an hour.

Majority are daily labourers and begin their work from 8pm, so supplying water to us from 9am is odd. Earlier, they would release water from 5 am to 7am on alternate days. Even residents with low pressure would get sufficient water

Not just people who go for daily wages but also for many people in colonies find problematic with new timings.

Opposing the new timing, a representation was submitted to General Manager of Water Works R.B. Anil Kumar by Jimkalawada people. Similarly, Kukatpally Colony Association president K. Mahender said that daily supply was no use due to odd timings.
