‘Human Snake’ Girl Cured Of Her Rare Skin Disease 

Shalini Yadav, dubbed as human snake, has been cured by doctors for "free of cost" in Spain. The 16-year-old girl hailing from Chhatarpur district suffered from a rare skin condition lamellar ichthyosis (fishi-like scales). Her ailment caused her skin to grow too fast, dry out, and shed. A team of 19 doctors welcomed her to Hospital Banus in Marbella on September 10.

'I can't wait to go back home and show my new face to the people there. Now, I want all those people to come and stare at me," shalini chuckles.

Dermatologist Enrique Herrera says that she expects Shalini to be normal in next two months. Herrera adds, "As you can see, we had a very positive response in just ten days of medication”. Earlier, due to her ailment she has to bathe every hour and apply moisturizer every three hours to relieve the symptoms. Shalini was helped to reach doctors in Spain by an NGO - Newslions.

Shalini's father Rajbahadur is a daily wage labourer, who says, "Earlier people were frightened of my daughter." But now he is happy to see love and compassion from Sapnish people who are helping his daughter.

Shalini flew back to India on Wednesday and is eager to go to her school soon. She aspires to become a doctor.
