High Court Shocker To Chandrababu Naidu For Illegal Constructions On Flood Plains Of Krishna River

CM Chandrababu Naidu’s river front guest house - Sakshi Post

Vijayawada: The High Court on Tuesday issued notices to Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and 57 others for illegal constructions in the flood plains of Krishna river.

Following a petition filed by Mangalagiri MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy, the High Court issued the notices and directed them to file counter petitions within three weeks. MLA Ramakrishna Reddy said in his petition that the river front guest house of the Chief Minister was in violation of the River Conservancy Act, 1884.

It may noted here that the chief minister's current residence was illegally constructed on the Krishna river flood plains in blatant violation of laws that govern the protection of rivers. He had leased the residence from Lingamaneni Group. Other illegal constructions in the area belong to Lingamaneni Ramesh, Narsapuram MP Gogaraju Gangaraju and naturopathy practitioner Manthena Satyanarayana Raju.
