Girls’ College Denies Admission To Girl Students Due To Space Constraint

Hyderabad: The Government Junior College for Girls in Old City instead of enrolling students is turning away them due to space constraint. The college situated at Maisaram near Chandrayangutta was started in 2008 and offers only Arts (CEC) stream. Incidentally, the college has been running within a school premises.

Saniya, a student, says she has been visiting the college for the past 15 days but the principal denied an admission saying that they can’t accommodate as they lack space. The principal Sadiqa Begum said, "The classes are jam-packed and I have asked those seeking admission to wait until alternative arrangements are made."

A social activist Talha Kaseri questions the college administration, “How can the higher officials be so irresponsible? The responsibility should be assigned to someone, and action should be initiated.” The college was granted to start BiPC, MPC stream as well but till date the management couldn’t implement due to space constraint.

Girls coming from Shaheennagar, Bandlaguda, Ghousenagar, Errakunta, Pahadishareef, and Chandrayangutta approach the college every year to seek admissions. Meanwhile, the Government Girls Junior College at Falaknuma is no different and follows the same suit.
