Free-Left At Pension Office To Ease Traffic On Road No.1

Hyderabad: After a lot of deliberations, the Army approved of giving its pension office land at Banjara Hills to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) which is planning to ease traffic with a free left on the road adjacent to the pension office.

However, whether the Army would ask for compensation as the land's value is estimated to be in crores is not clear.

"We often receive complaints about traffic snarl as there is no free left. As the army has agreed to give its land we will construct a slip road at the pension office land," said a GHMC official.

The office is situated behind the Ganesh temple between Road 1 and 12 of Banjara Hills.

Apart from this the main road's closure at the Secunderabad Cantonment has been a contention for the civilians. Of late a candlelight march was held on Tuesday by the Federation of North Eastern Colonies of Secunderabad (FNECS) urging re-opening of the civilian roads blocked by Army.

The march began from Railway Reservation Office at AS Rao Nagar to Neredmet. A member of the FNECS said that the new roads proposed and approved are not beneficial to them. Sainikpuri, Yapral, AS Rao Nagar, Neredmet, Malkajgiri, Alwal, Bolarum residents participated in the march.
