AI Flight Stays Midair For An Hour Due To Bad Weather At Vizag Airport

Vizag: An Air India flight carrying AP's Minister K. Kala Venkatrao, Government Whip Ganababu and MP Kambampati Rammohan Rao among 60 other passengers had to roam in the air for an hour due to bad weather for landing at Vizag airport on Wednesday.
The Vijayawada-Vizag flight scheduled for 4.30pm arrived at 5.30pm but was not landed by the woman pilot due to strong gales at the airport. She skillfully took off the plane again and roamed in circles for over an hour. She finally landed the flight after the air traffic control staff gave clearance.
All the 60-odd passengers heaved a sigh of relief as the flight landed safely.
On Sunday night, a Hyderbad-bound Indigo flight hit a wild boar during its takeoff at the same airport. The flight was on its way from Vizag and had 150 passengers along with four crew members on board. The Indigo flight was due to takeoff at 10pm when it hit a wild boar on the runway, damaging the rear wheel and killing the animal. According to a report on Times of India, the pilot saw the boar but could not abort the takeoff as it was too late.
