Fake Godman Digs In House For Treasure Hunt Near Charminar

Treasure hunter dug a 20-foot deep pit in a house in Chatrinaka - Sakshi Post

Charminar: A fake godman and his two associates were arrested in Chatrinaka by the south zone police on Sunday in a cordon and search operation. Police said that the accused had dug a 20-foot deep pit in Raheem Sultan’s house promising to find treasure.

South Zone DCP V. Satyanarayana said the entire business was a scam planned by the gang who wanted to extract money from the house owner

Shaik Sameer, a self-styled godman convinced Sultan that there was a treasure in his house and the latter readily permitted to excavate. Sameer struck a deal of Rs 2 lakh for the treasure and also took Rs10,000 as advance.

South Zone DCP V. Satyanarayana said the entire business was a scam planned by the gang who wanted to extract money from the house owner. After taking the accused into custody, they also confiscated the materials. The two associates of Sameer are Mohammed Zubair and Mohammed Ashwaq.
