Facebook Friend Turns Stalker For Hyderabad Woman

Hyderabad: Facebook seems to have become the new breeding ground of virtual stalkers who step into the real lives of others after befriending them. Yet another case of Facebook friend turning into a stalker came to light in the city. This time the surprising part is that the accused is an advocate, who was arrested in Hyderabad for allegedly stalking and harassing a woman he befriended on Facebook. He started stalking her after she refused sexual advances made by him.

According to the Langar Houz Police, on February 18 a complaint was filed by a 33-year-old woman stating that her Facebook friend, Mirza Mouzam Baig, who is an advocate by profession and a youth Congress leader, had been disturbing her personal life as well as her friends by sending vulgar messages on the social media.

The police said that the accused had information related to her and was blaming her by making false allegations. He was also forcing her to have a physical relationship with him, and when she refused, he started sending dirty messages to her friends and husband through his friend Shaik Ahmed Parvez and others, police said. A case has been registered and the accused has been taken into custody.
