Social media sensation Priya Prakash Varrier is on the verge of reaching yet another milestone after breaking records on the internet earlier this year. In what could be another feather in the cap for the 19-year-old actress, she is being placed atop the list of most influential personalities of the year 2018.

The Oru Adaar Love actress, fondly called the 'national crush' in social media circles, shattered records in February this year, by going on to become the third most followed person on Instagram. She surpassed world's best footballer Cristiano Ronaldo after she came into the limelight with her signature 'wink'.

Priya Prakash Varrier, just 18 years old then, became an overnight sensation with a 10 second clip from a video song, in which she portrayed a mix of expressions with her charming, funny and romantic smile. At the end of the video clip is the famous wink gesture.

In Yahoo's 'Year In Review,' the teenage sensation has been ranked the third most searched female celebrity of the year. Also, she made it to the top 10 newsmakers of 2018 along with Narendra Modi, Rahul Gandhi, Dipak Misra, Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi, MJ Akbar, MS Dhoni, Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh, and Taimur Ali Khan.
