Eight killed in ghastly road accident in Krishnagiri

Krishnagiri: Eight passengers died on the spot and 32 others were critically injured when the private bus they were travelling in collided with a container lorry at Krishnagiri in Tamil Nadu here on Sunday.

The bus was travelling from Sulagiri when it collided with a lorry coming from Hossur. There were more than 60 passengers in the bus at the time of the accident. Locals and other motorists were the first to rush to the aid of the injured. Authorities dispatched more than 10 ambulances to the accident site to shift the injured to hospitals.

Police officials, however, estimate that the death toll is likely to increase.
