EC looking at hurdles to conduct bye election in Allagadda

EC looking at hurdles to conduct bye election in Allagadda - Sakshi Post

Election Commission of India is now looking at the obstructions for conducting Allagadda bye election in Kurnool district.

A petition is pending in High Court of Andhra Pradesh on the same. With this, the election commission could not announce the election schedule of the assembly constituency eventhough it is conducting the bye elections in some parliament and assembly constituencies across the country.

Now, the election commission is looking at the legal hurdles for conducting the election in Allagadda.

YSRCP candidate Sobha Nagaireddy died in a road accident while going home after participating in an election campaign. She won the election there eventhough she died before the election.

If the commission is sure of no legal hurdles for conducting the election here, it may announce the schedule within one or two days. The officials of the commission said that they would conduct the election in Allagadda if the legal hurdles are cleared.
