Eamcet Leakage Key Accused Kamalesh Sharma Dies In CID Custody

Hyderabad: The main accused in the Eamcet paper leak scam died in Crime Investigation Department (CID) custody on Wednesday.
After months of search, Sunil Singh alias Kamalesh Sharma was nabbed in his home town Patna on Monday and was shifted to Hyderabad for interrogation.
Kamalesh had reportedly developed chest pain during the interrogation and was shifted to Mahavir Hospital where doctors refused to treat him. Then police shifted him to Osmania General Hospital (OGH) where, after days of treatment, he is said to have suffered a heart stroke and then died.
The body of Kamalesh was sent to his home after conducting a postmortem.
In the sensational Eamcet-2 paper leakage scam, the CID had arrested 14 persons so far and the key accused Kamalesh was the last to be arrested. With his death, the investigation may hit a dead-end and the case will die a natural death.
The CID official, however, said Kamalesh did not die in their custody, but while undergoing treatment at Osmania Hospital.
