Hyderabad: YSRCP MLA Roja has said that the YSRCP party would launch protests if the state government reduces the retirement age of government employees based on performance indicators.

MLA Roja was addressing media persons at YSRCP head office in the city, on Monday. The AP government issued a GO (Government Order) stating that retirement age of employees would be cut to 55 years if the employee joins the government service at the age of 25. However, finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishna rubbished the report saying that no such decision was taken by the government.

Roja sought to know whether the decision was taken without his consent in the Finance Ministry. The YSRCP MLA said that the TDP government is trying to cover up the issue after a copy of the GO was leaked to the media. She warned that the opposition party would fight tooth and nail against the decision. The YSRCP would stand by the employees, she asserted.

She said that the file related to the "retirement of employees" was sent to the Chief Secretary on July 26 after it was approved by the Finance Ministry on July 18. From day one, Chandrababu has been ruling the state as a dictator, Roja said. Chandrababu introduced the system of recruiting employees through contract basis in the government sector, she added.
