Two possible theories have came to the fore — in a bid to escape from the kidnappers, the victim went to the bathroom and tried to escape from the ventilator window from the second floor from where he jumped to death. The locals noticed the body and alerted the police.

Another version is goes thus... the kidnappers hacked the victim to death by hitting him with a blunt object.

Khan, who got introduced to Rajpurohit a few years back through Facebook, had eventually developed business links with the victim.

On November 1, Rajpurohit arrived in Malaysia. He met Khan and both went to an undisclosed location. From there, the victim's cellphone was switched off. The police said that Khan returned to the hotel and asked his associates about Rajpurohit. They were clueless as Khan had first accompanied Rajpurohit. Khan told his men that he relieved Rajpurohit in the afternoon. Suspicion began when Khan's cellphone too got switched off at around 8 pm.

Meanwhile, Rajpurohit's mortal remains was brought to Kushaiguda in the city and last rites were performed at Kushaiguda Smasana Vatika.amily members who flew down to Malaysia, to collect the body, were given contradicting versions by the police.
