Demand For SCS Resonates Across Andhra Pradesh

Demand For SCS Resonates Across Andhra Pradesh - Sakshi Post

The demand for Special Category Status (SCS) to Andhra Pradesh has found resonance across all districts of the state. During the course of Leader of the Opposition, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s mass outreach initiative, Praja Sankalpa Yatra, he enlightened people in all places about the benefits of SCS to the state. People everywhere from YSR Kadapa district, Kurnool, Anantapur, Chittoor, Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore and Prakasam districts so far have clearly spoken in favour of SCS strongly. Be they employees, unemployed youth, the elderly, farmers, women or common citizens, all segments of society have been vocal in their demand for SCS to AP.

Student groups of various universities have demanded SCS to the state and have reminded Chandrababu Naidu of this just expectation which is the right of the people of the state. They also faulted him for emphasising on the importance of the special package, compared to SCS. The state was already put to great loss and denial of SCS set it back further, they observed. Why was Chandrababu Naidu continuing in the NDA, questioned the students of Andhra University in Visakhapatnam. They said that Chandrababu had lauded the NDA government for the financial assistance it had extended to AP. How did he suddenly wake up to the need for SCS, they asked. It was only because of YS Jagan's repeated emphasis and insistence that Chandrababu acted belatedly, asserted.

Students of SV University in Tirupati, pointed out that Chandrababu Naidu enacted a drama now by withdrawing ministers from the NDA government. The students reminded Chandrababu that two years ago, Union Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley had said what he repeated the other day. Jaitley then had said that a special package would be given instead of SCS and this was welcomed by Chandrababu Naidu at that time. Why is Chandrababu staging these dramas now, they asked. The students said that both BJP and TDP were betraying the people of the state. Chandrababu had lost all credibility, students everywhere said. They also remarked that it was only YSRCP president, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy who had been waging a consistent struggle for SCS to the state. They repeatedly stressed on the fact that special category status as pointed out by YS Jagan was AP’s right.
