Daughter Performs Last Rites Of Father

Medak: In a heart-rending incident an intermediate student, Hima Bindhu performed the last rites of her father as the deceased did not have any male heir.
The deceased Kunta Ramesh (42) was critically injured in a road accident, about 15 days ago. On Friday, he suffered massive cardiac arrest and died while undergoing treatment. He was survived by wife and two daughters. Incidentally, Ramesh's father Narayana died 10 years ago while his brother Shekhar died three years ago leaving the family with no male heir to conduct the last rites. His brother Shekhar was survived by three daughters.
Therefore on Saturday, relatives permitted Hima Bindhu to perform the last rites of Ramesh. A weeping Hima Bindhu said that her father promised to bring her a birthday gift. "Is this the birthday gift, daddy," she said looking at the body of Ramesh leaving those present in tears. The family responsibilities befell on the old shoulders of Ramesh's mother Anusuya (70).
Former municipal chairman Bhatti Jagapathi, TDP district president AK Gangadhar Rao, leaders of several political parties and police officials attended the funeral.
