With the statement made by Aravind on Tuesday, speculation of Srinivas shifting his loyalties to the BJP apparently gained steam.  - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: Amidst speculation that senior TRS leader and former minister D. Srinivas is likely to join the BJP, his younger son Aravind has caused a flutter among the political circles by stating that "the nation should stand by PM Modi".

He made this statement to a national TV channel on the occasion of the Independence Day on Tuesday. His statement assumed significance in the Telangana and national politics.

It may be recalled that former DCC president of Sangareddy and close aide of Srinivas — Nandeshwar Goud recently joined the BJP. With the statement of Aravind on Tuesday, speculation that Srinivas would also soon shift his loyalties to the BJP apparently gained steam. However, the TRS leader rubbished saying that he would continue to serve the TRS party.

Srinivas, who had held the post of APCC chief, had contested from Nizamabad Rural constituency in 2014 elections and was defeated. After joining the TRS, he was made an adviser to the Telangana government.

"I am not bothered about the statement made by my son. The statement has no significance. There is no point in leaving the TRS party. I would stand by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao," Srinivas told Sakshi on Wednesday. The TRS leader further said that his son Aravind is not a small kid and advised the media to question his son over the statement.
