Two Kids Fall Into Water Pit, Drown

Warangal: Two children drowned in a pit filled with water late on Thursday night. The incident occurred at Mylaram village of Rayaparthy mandal in Warangal Rural district.

The pit, filled with water was dug to construct individual household toilets but was left abandoned for a long time.

The two kids, identified as Siluveru Sakrutha (6) and Lakkam Arjun (8) were playing around the pit on Thursday night, accidentally fell into it.

The parents grew suspicious after the kids didn't turn up at their home even for dinner and began searching for them. The villagers also intensified their search and their bodies were discovered in the pit behind a house late on Thursday night. Police have registered a case and the investigation is underway.
