Extra-Marital Affair Drives City Man To Suicide

Hyderabad: In a tragic turn of events, an extra-marital affair led a man in his late thirties, to commit suicide, in Yapral area in the city on Wednesday morning.

According to the police, Ramesh(36), who had been living at Jupalli Homes here, got into a relationship with a married woman, Sujatha. After learning about his wife's affair, her husband reprimanded Ramesh. The humiliation, it turned out was too much to bear for Ramesh.

Driven by guilt and a deep sense of ignominy, Ramesh hanged himself. The police who were informed about the suicide by the local residents arrived on the scene and registered a case. The body was sent for postmortem to Gandhi Hospital.

This suicide, at the core of which lay an extra-marital affair, highlights the increasing number of deaths and crimes on account of such relationships. On Tuesday, a mother in Vizianagaram murdered her 17 year-old son, by administering an overdose of sleeping pills to him. She did so to get rid of him as he was objecting to her involvement in an extra-marital affair.
