Shahid Afridi Says He Forbids Daughters To Play Cricket, Faces Backlash
Hyderabad: Pakistan's former cricket captain, Shahid Afridi, has said that he forbids his daughter from playing any outdoor sport including cricket and he does not care what feminists have to say about it. After he made the statement, the 44-year-old all rounder on Friday faced major backlash for his stance.
In his memoir 'Gamechanger', he calls himself as a Pakistani father who made the decision based on 'social and religious reasons' and said, “Feminists can say whatever they want about my decision."
“They have my permission to play any sport, as long as they’re indoors," the all rounder, who earned the moniker “boom boom” for his aggressive batting style said.
Twitteratis did not spare him and called him out for his hypocrisy. Few tweets have been put below.

Afridi holds the record for sixes struck in one-day internationals.
Ironically, Pakistan has its own women's team and is currently placed seventh in the ICC's one day international rankings and is touring South Africa, where they stand tied one-all with the hosts.
