Comedian Apologises to Dark-skinned Heroine

Colours TV channel has apologised to Bollywood actress Tannishtha Chatterjee for comments about her skin colour.

The comedy show Comedy Nights Bachao, the host made comments about her skin colour, which angered the actress and made her walkout of the show. The channel management said: It was never our intentin, nor a practice for us or the makers of the show to offend anyone at all with jokes. We have taken this up seriously with the creative team and the productin house to ensures that the show is produced in line with the vision of the channel. Comedian Krishna Abhishek, who hosts the show, said: Tannishtha perhaps hadn't anticipated what was coming her way and I don't blame her for that. Everybody knows that in our brand of humour, we do a bit of tang khichai which she wasn't probably ready for.

Tannishtha also got support from dark-skinned actresses like Nandita Das, Priyamani and Vishakha Singh.
