College Chairman Arrested for Siphoning Off Scholarship Amount

Hyderabad: Chairman of Hasvita Institute of Engineering and Technology, Tarun Kumar, has been arrested, here on Monday, for siphoning off scholarship amount of students by presenting fake certificates.

When G Anitha, a post graduate student of the the college, was informed that the government had sanctioned her the scholarship amount, she approached the college management but was given inconsistent replies. Further, she was asked to pay Rs. 5,000 to get her hall ticket.

The chairman was arrested following an investigation by the police, who also found that the signatures of the students were regularly forged by the college management.

Following a complaint by her, police launched an investigation. They discovered that the college was creating fake certificates and forging the signatures of the students. They, then used to siphon off the scholarship amount. The police have arrested the college chairman Tarun Kumar, in this regard.
