CM Chandrababu Interrupts YSRCP MP Avinash Reddy’s Speech

Pulivendula: Setting a distasteful precedent, chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu interrupted the speech of YSRCP MP Avinash Reddy at a Janmabhoomi programme, here on Wednesday.
Even as the MP was speaking at the programme, the chief minister and other TDP leaders gheraoed him. A couple of minutes later, the CM directed other leaders to take away the mike from Avinash Reddy. This direction in addition to the over-enthusiasm of TDP men to grab the mike of Avinash Reddy created a unruly scene on the stage for a few minutes. Many among the audience were left wondering if the chief minister was right in obstructing an elected representative from speaking.

The issues raised by MP Avinash Reddy during his speech irked the TDP leaders who were at their wit's end on how to respond to the questions. The MP said that though the Gandikota and Chitravathi projects were launched by Chandrababu Naidu, more than 85% of works related to those projects were completed by late chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy. "The late chief minister spent Rs 1,300 crore and completed 85% of the Gandikota and Chitravathi projects. We cannot forget his contribution," Avinash Reddy said.
Regretting the incident, YSRCP MLA Srikanth Reddy questioned the TDP discipline in according respected to Parliamentarian. He also questioned if it was a TDP programme or a Janmabhoomi programme.
