Chandrababu Naidu Enacting Drama In The Name of Special Category Status: YS Jagan

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy - Sakshi Post

Bapatla: Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu is enacting a drama in the name of Special Category Status (SCS) as he does not have commitment to the welfare of the people and the state, Leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said.

Addressing a massive public meeting in Bapatla on the 110th day of the Praja Sankalpa Yatra, he said the CM changes his tune about SCS as per his requirements. "Chandrababu ignored the cabinet approval and directions given to the then Planning Commission in 2014 regarding SCS. He woke up only when the YSRCP intensified its well-planned and consistent agitation for SCS. Therefore, he hurriedly ordered his ministers to resign from the Union cabinet," the YSRCP chief said.

The chief minister even backtracked on the issue of supporting the YSRCP on the no confidence motion against the NDA government, YS Jagan pointed out. "The resignation of 25 MPS will force the Central government to act on the SCS issue," he said and added that a united fight is needed from all irrespective of their political affiliations. However, Chandrababu continues to issue a new statement each day about SCS and does not come forward for a united fight against the Central government, he said.

"Just like his statements on Special Status, he actions over the past four years have been deceiving. Students fee reimbursement, farm loan waiver, loans for DWCRA women, health scheme and the promise to remove belt shops are some of the poll promises made by the CM in 2014. Till date none of those promises were fulfilled. Further, the existing health scheme Aarogyasri has been rendered useless by the TDP government. Aarogyasri proved a boon for the people of the rural areas. However, lack of funding and commitment to the scheme from the state government has left the people approaching private hospitals," YS Jagan said.

The Leader Of Opposition assured the people that the YSRCP government will ensure that the Aarogyasri is valid across the country, so that people can avail medical treatment without delay. The YSRCP is committed to the implementation of the welfare measures announced in the Navaratnalu programme, YS Jagan concluded.
