Chandrababu Made Governor Speak Falsehoods: YS Jagan Mohan Reddy 

YSRCP chief and Leader of the Opposition in the AP Legislative Assembly YS Jagan Mohan Reddy questioned the claims of Chandrababu Government that the state's GDP was five percentage points more than the national average.

"How can the agricultural sector show progress, when the state has been suffering drought for the past three years?" he questioned.

"Ever since Chandrababu became the chief minister, the state has been suffering drought for three years running," quipped YS Jagan.

Addressing a media conference after the assembly budget session began at the temporary assembly building in Velagapudi, he said Chandrababu Naidu has made Governor speak untruths.

Governor Made To Speak Falsehoods

He said the Government was made to say that the special category status would go away by March end even for those states that are enjoying the facility till now. "The Section E, Clause IV or the Section 274 A of the GST Act clearly says that special provisions would be made for Special Category Status States. This means the facility would continue for SCSs. This clearly shows that the Government is peddling falsehoods," he said.

On the land allocation in the Capital Area, YS Jagan said those close to the ruling establishment like the ministers, MLAs and others got plots alloted in plush areas, while the poor farmers were pushed to marginal areas.

Feast For Some, Loaves For Poor Ryots

Citing examples, he said Payyavula Keshav and sitting MLA Dhulipalla Narendra were given 12000 sq yards plots in Kodandaramarajupalem. The plot has roads on all four sides and is located between two commercial zones. Similarly, Minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy's son Venkata Krishna Kishore was allotted 2420 yards in Nelapadu. The plot is close to the Seed Office Road and near a Government Commercial Complex. Speaker Kodela Sivaprasad's PA Gutta Lalith Kumar secured 2280 sq yards of plum land in Velagapudi. Vinukonda MLA Anjaneyulu's daughter Lakshmi Soujanya was given 9720 sq yards of land near Seed Access Road and commercial plots.

Lottery System Not Transparent

"If all houses are allotted through pick of the lots, how come only TDP leaders and their acolytes were allotted plots in prime locations? The same gave was played in the zonation of the capital area land. The farmers' lands were kept in agricultural zones so that they cannot sell their lands. But, the lands belonging to the TDP leaders are kept in the commercial zone so that the prices of these lands goes up enormously," he said and added that the farmers were being taken for a ride in the capital area.
