Casting Couch Is A Disgusting Thing: Salman Khan

The #MeToo controversy has taken the world by storm and back home Bollywood celebrities too have been vocal in expressing their disapproval. Notably Vidya Balan, Priyanka Chopra and Salman Khan have spoken against it.

Dabangg star Salman Khan addressed the casting couch issue in the film industry on the sidelines of the event Hindustan Times Leadership Summit in partnership with CNN-News 18 on Thursday. The Tiger Zinda Hai actor when quizzed about casting couch, he said that it is the most disgusting thing he had ever heard of.

The actor added that he if someone comes to him about such harassment he will take the offenders “down to the cleaners”.

“If someone is there with a principle that you have to sleep with them to get a job, then it is the most disgusting thing ever. I have not heard anything like this. If a lady or a man comes up to me and tells me that something of the sort has happened with them, I will take them down to the cleaners,” The Indian Express quoted.

The 52-year-old said that he has been in the industry for a long time but never heard anyone coming out publicly and taking it on. He added that harassment is different from flirting. “Till today I have not heard anyone come and say it straight out. Now, being a beautiful woman or a man, someone or the other is going to flirt with you,” the actor said, adding that it is different from harassment.” he quoted.
