BSP Leader Shot Dead In Allahabad

New Delhi: A Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Mohammed Shami was shot dead in Allahabad on Sunday night. The incident occurred hours after the swearing-in ceremony of new Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath. Police said that many rounds of bullets were fired at the leader, adding five bullets were retrieved from his body.

The incident occurred while the leader was on his way back to home. Shami recently shifted to BSP from Samajwadi Party. His supporters protested after his murder blocking Allahabad-Faizabad highway for some time.

Police are probing into the matter.
