Bride Files Complaint On Groom Over Dowry Demand

Koriya (Chhattisgarh): A bride lodged a police complaint after the groom demanded additional dowry and other household articles immediately after marriage.

The bride's father gave dowry money prior to the wedding. However, after the marriage, the groom demanded additional money and refused to take the bride if the money was not paid. He did not relent despite repeated pleas by the bride's family.

However, the bride who was witness to the entire episode, rushed to the police station and lodged a complaint. Based on her complaint, the groom was arrested on Tuesday. The actions of the bride have won her appreciation from the villagers and congratulatory messages are pouring-in from across the country.
