Blows and Lathicharge, not dialogue, grace Rachanbanda in Kadapa

Rachabanda programmes, which were initiated to provide a platform for dialogue between public and their elected representatives are increasing becoming chaotic and unruly affairs.

In a programme held in Kadapa on Tuesday, Police resorted to lathicharge to stop CPI activists from disrupting a Rachabanda programme.
Trouble began when the activists, who demanded for ration cards and house sites, opposed the conduct of Rachabanda in the district. According to reports, even women were being lathicharged. The activists have accused the police of allowing only congress workers to attend the programme, while barring other party workers. 
In yet another Rachabanda programme, attended by MP Anantha Venkatarami Reddy in Ananthapuram, Police lathicharged YSRCP activists for creating chaos. The protestors staged a dharna demanding the MP's support for Samaikyandhra. Police lathicharged the activists and took into custody some protestors.
