BJP May Keep Balayya Away From Karnataka Campaign Post Modi Rant

Tollywood actor and TDP MLA from Hindupur, Nandamuri Balakrishna, seems to have ruffled the BJP's feathers at the highest levels of the party leadership with his unparliamentary attack on PM Modi. Credible sources say that the BJP has taken a serious view of Balayya's disparaging comments. It is being said that Balayya's derogatory remarks referring to PM Modi came at a time when the TDP is attempting to mend relations with the BJP at the Centre. A section of Karnataka BJP leaders, who had earlier thought of inviting Balakrishna, are reported to have scrapped the idea.

Incidentally, the Hindupur MLA is Chandrababu Naidu's brother-in-law and his son, Nara Lokesh's father-in-law. Balayya's tirade laden with crass expressions at Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's 'deeksha' at Vijayawada on April 20, triggered widespread protests in both the Telugu-speaking states, as well.
